This apple didn't fall far from the tree!

Its that time of year. You know that time of year that you show your love and support for
that one person, the one who lay in labor for 20+ hours hoping and praying you
make this as easy as possible? yeah that person.. your Mother...

I am particularly fond of mine. let me tell you a little something, I was wandering through a few photographs yesterday and I stumbled upon one of my mother... It made my heart swell!
she is my pride a joy. I know that sounds silly coming from me (the daughter) but you cant help but be proud of her.

Just look for yourself!

Photograph taken at LDS girls camp summer 2000

Thats right my mother puts "Captain" Jack Sparrow to shame! you want a little background? okay sure here we go.

Judy Brown, (you may know her as I affectionately call her, "Mother") has never been one to back down from a challenge, even when it would have been the best of ideas, when its suggested to dress up... she doesn't just dress up... she DRESSES UP!

The whole 9! So when she was asked if she thought she could pull off pirate for a surprise at girls camp (my first year mind you, I had no idea what I was in for, for the next 7 years) she pulled it off. It wasn't until this creepy old man pirate sat right next to me that I realized I knew those legs. I could never for get those legs... I have been CURSED with those exact legs! (they were also well shaved legs.)
This creepy old man, was my dear mother! :)

I love her dearly! I would like to think that I got my awesome fashion sense from her. I mean look how she Rocked the 70's (and my papa is pretty swell too!)

She is Mama Brown, To so many more then just her 8 (pretty fantastic!) children, She has one of the biggest hearts I have ever had the privilege to witness. I know I might seem partial, but with good reason.  She has taught me how to be brave when no one else will be, to be kind, loving, and compassionate, especially when your gut reaction is to be the exact opposite.
Now don't get me wrong, she has her faults just like you and I, but I love her in spite of and sometimes because of those little goofs in life, that help us all learn and grow!

She has a place in her heart for absolutely everyone, in addition to her 8 biological, she has loved, and in some cases had a big part in raising an additional 10+ lovely people.

Can I also say while admitting I am partial I think she is the most beautiful woman in the world? I was observing her the other day. I was just blown away at the grace she encompasses. no woman has ever been able to pull off salt and pepper hair quite like her!

When I didn't feel I deserved it, she loved me the most.
I will forever be indebted to her.
I love her, the good and the bad!
She is my best friend, the one that will outlast the rest.

So here's a great big (early)

  1. Thank you for the precious tribute. This having been a year of ups and downs, it came at a time I needed to know I still had value to people. I love you.
